Meet Our Team of Tax Experts
Success Driven by Strong Relationships
The strength of the relationships between our team and our clients is responsible for their financial success as an individual or business, as well as our success as an accounting firm. These relationships are built by listening, understanding and problem solving, not just in the months leading up to April 15, but throughout the year.
We help individuals, families, business and nonprofits navigate the complexity of taxes and accounting. Not only do we do this in person, but we offer virtual accounting services nationwide. By combining decades of experience and a genuine compassion for the needs of our clients, we deliver the best possible outcome. Let us introduce you to the Diane E. Cahill, CPA Team.
Diane E. Cahill, CPA, President and Owner
Diane E. Cahill’s daughter was born in December of 1988. Diane launched her accounting firm in January of 1989. That’s not a coincidence.
After earning her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Oswego, Diane started her career in the expatriate department of a “Big 4” accounting firm in New York City. At the time, Diane had no intention of starting her own business. Then she became a mom. Suddenly, that long commute seemed quite a bit longer, and she couldn’t just work from home like people do today. Diane started working part-time for a friend’s small accounting firm in New Jersey and eventually purchased the company.
Still wearing her CPA hat and her mommy hat, Diane managed to grow the company very quickly. Within a few years, she was hiring extra help during tax season. Today, Diane’s firm has more than 450 individual and business clients, several of whom have been with her since those early years when she was juggling calculators and diapers.
Diane takes pride in keeping up with ever-changing tax laws and explaining those changes to clients in a language they understand. She has extensive experience in tax consulting and compliance services and specializes in the successful management of IRS, state, sales tax, and payroll audits. In addition to providing tax and accounting services for individuals, small businesses, nonprofits, and trusts and estates, Diane continues to prepare tax returns for expatriates living in places such as Hong Kong, France and Italy.
Diane treasures her relationships with her existing clients, their families, and their employees, and looks forward to building new ones. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling and visiting the shore.

Lisa Meraglia, Office Manager
Lisa Meraglia has followed a similar path as Diane, spending 10 years on Wall Street as a Securities Margin Analyst before working for a local business as an office manager. She decided not to return to Manhattan and instead stay home to raise her three children. She then joined Diane E. Cahill, CPA PC in 2004, where she specializes in helping clients look outside the box to find solutions to their problems.
Lisa’s areas of expertise include client coordination, IT troubleshooting, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel. She attended the City University of New York and The New York Institute of Finance.
In her free time, Lisa enjoys reading, gardening and traveling to awe-inspiring places such as the Grand Canyon, Niagara Falls and Europe. If you watch Law & Order: Criminal Intent, you may have seen Lisa and her children as background extras in several episodes.
